       Lakshadweep, the only coral atolls in India. The meaning of the name 'Lakshadweep' is 'One Hundred Thousand Islands'. The Total are of these Island is 32 Sq. KM. In the year 1956 it became Union Territory. It has nearly or more that 39 Islands but among them only in 6 Islands we Indians have permission to visit. In the case of foreigners, they have permission to visit only two Islands i.e. Agatti and Bangaram Islands. Agatti Island is the most important Island of Lakshadweep. Because only in Agatti Island Airport facility is available and it is connected to  Cochin. It the only way to reach Lakshadweep. Lakshadweep is divided into three main Parts i.e. Lakshadweep Islands, Minicoy and Amindivi.
