Indian Army Day 2021:

In India, 15^th January is celebrated as Indian Army Day. In this year it becomes the 73^rd Army Day.

1.   Why Indian Army Day is Celebrated?

Ans. In the recognition of Lieutenant General K MCariappa taking  over as the 1^st Commander-in-chief of the Indian Army from General Sir Francis Butcher (the last Commander-in-Chief of India). Army Day marks a day to salute the valiant soldiers who sacrificed their lives to protect our Country and our people.

2.   Who is the 1^st Indian Army Officer?

In 1949, K M Cariappa becomes the first Indian Army Officer.

3.   Why does Indian Army Day Celebrated on 15^th January?

Ans. The Indian Army was established on 1^st April,1895. However, After Independence on 15th January,1949 the Army got its first Indian Chief Lieutenant General K M Cariappa
