IFS Exam Pattern:
UPSC IFS i.e. Indian Forest Service Exam consists of three
stages -
1. Preliminary Exam
2. Main Exam
3. Interview
Preliminary Test of Indian Forest Service
& Indian Civil Service is common.
It means if you are willing to join
Indian Forest Service, first you have to go for Indian Civil Service
Preliminary Test.
1. Preliminary Exam(400 Marks):
- Paper 1(General Knowledge) [200 Marks]
- Paper 2(CSAT-Aptitude Test) [200 Marks]
2. Main Exam(1400 Marks) :
IFS Main Exam contains 6 Papers-
· Paper 1- General English(300 Marks)
· Paper 2- General Knowledge(300 Marks)
· Any Two Subjects from Optional Subjects List. Each subjects contains two papers and each papers contains 200 marks.
NOTE: Candidates will
not allow with these subjects combinations-
· Agriculture and Agricultural
Engineering
· Agriculture and Animal Husbandry
& Veterinary Science
· Agriculture and Forestry
· Chemistry and Chemical Engineering
· Mathematics and Statistics
· Not More than one Engineering Subject-
Agricultural Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Civil Engineering, and
Mechanical Engineering
IFS Syllabus:

2. IFS Main Exam (1700 Marks):

& Constitution on India, History of India,
Geography
