1.  What is the meaning of the word ‘Fraternity’ meant in the Indian Constitution?

In the Indian Constitution, Fraternity means ‘The Spirit of Brotherhood’.

2.  What does it mean when say “We have Federal System of Governance in India”?

Federal system in India means- Different States or Provinces of India have the Power to make their own Laws and Decisions.  It divides the power between the Centre and its constituent parts such as States or Provinces. It is a system of Two Levels of Government.

3.  What are the modes of losing Indian Citizenship according to the Citizenship Act of 1955?

There are three modes of losing Citizenship of India such as 1. Renunciation 2. Termination 3. Deprivation.

By Renunciation means if any citizen of India want to abandon his citizenship, he can do it by declaring Renunciation. (On his Own Willingness)

By Termination : When a citizen of India acquires the citizenship of another country, his Indian citizenship will be terminated automatically. Because according to our Indian Constitution India has Single Citizenship rule.

By Deprivation : It is a compulsory termination of Indian Citizenship by the Central Government if : 

I) The citizenship has obtained by fraud, 

II) The citizen has shown disloyalty to the Indian Constitution. 

III) The Citizen has unlawfully traded or communicated with the enemy during a war and etc.
