The Honorable president of India is the First Citizen of India and Acts as the symbol of Unity, Integrity, and Solidarity of the Nation. In the Article No 52 of Part V i.e. Union, of our Indian Constitution, it is mentioned that “There shall be a President of India.”

·        The Electoral College is consisting of 1. the elected members of both the Houses of the Parliament (i.e. Rajya Sabha and Lok Sabha), 2.the elected members of the Legislative Assemblies of the states and 3. The elected members of the Legislative Assemblies of the Union Territories of Delhi and Puducherry.
